Scheme of Classification
The books are classified according to Dewey Decimal Classification and Relative Index, 23rd edition. The Scope of applying DDC is very limited in the field of Bengali literature and Sanskrit literature. So here we follow “ Granthagar Darpan” by Subodh Kumar Mukhopadhyay for the Classification of those two subject books.
Shelf Arrangement
The books are kept Subject-wise on the shelves and arranged in the shelves according to the call number, i.e., Class number plus book number. All Stacks and almirahs are numbered and assigned to the subjects and a user-instruction is given for finding those easily at the entrance of the stack room.
Access to Stacks
The library has open access to stacks for all. Users can find out documents of their choice independently and with the help of the Library Staff if required.
