Department of History
About the Department

The department of History is one of the oldest departments in the college. It started functioning from 6th August 1960 offering Pass Course (B.A) of the subject and one year University Entrance Course (i.e.11+1) of the subject under the University of Burdwan. Two Substantive posts were created in 1962 and subsequently two more substantive posts were created in 1962 and subsequently two more substantive posts were created in 1970 and 1972 respectively. The Hons. Course was started from 9th August 1968 (academic session- 1968-1969). At present, the department is managed by three Full-Time and two SACT teachers.
