Department of Economics
About the Department

The Department of Economics began its journey with the foundation of the institution in the year 1959. At the very beginning, the department offered both General and Honours courses in Economics, three-year duration degree programme.The Choice Based Credit System of three-year duration began in the year 2017 and is continuing successfully. Fromits inception the department experienced the incorporation of students from various socio-economic backgrounds and particularly most of them were/are first learner generation. The Economics Department tackled this problem efficiently.

At present, there are two faculty members in the department. They prefer blended mode of learning and make use of ICT tools to make lessons more attractive and presentable to the students.
